Hyderabad: BJP MP DK Aruna stated that after facing defeat in the Assembly elections, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao severed ties with the public and later spent crores of rupees to organise a rally in a bid to assert his party’s relevance in Telangana.
Speaking to the media, DK Aruna said that BRS was rapidly losing its presence in the state. She alleged that the party was now attempting to reconnect with the public under the pretext of celebrating its silver jubilee, but the people had already rejected BRS in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, and would do so again in the upcoming local body elections.
She accused the previous Chandrashekar Rao government of plunging the state into debt under the guise of development, involving itself in corruption amounting to one lakh crore rupees. She particularly highlighted the poor construction quality of the Kaleshwaram project, claiming that it had caused a loss of one lakh crore rupees of public funds.
DK Aruna also dismissed KCR’s claim that 80 per cent of the Palamuru Rangareddy project in Mahbubnagar district was complete, calling it absurd. She asserted that not even a drop of water had been delivered from the project so far.
Reacting strongly to KCR’s criticism of the BJP-led central government, DK Aruna said that the Modi government had provided massive financial support for Telangana’s development over the past 11 years. She stated that by 2023, the central government had disbursed over nine lakh crore rupees to Telangana. She added that much of the current infrastructure development, including road projects, was being carried out with central funds.
