Hyderabad: The EAGLE team arrested two drug traffickers from Odisha and seized 847 kilograms of marijuana packed in 411 packets across 26 bags, disrupting a key smuggling route into Telangana.
The seizure, worth an estimated ₹4.2 crore, included an SUV, two mobile phones, and a sword allegedly carried by the accused for protection.
Both suspects were identified as repeat offenders from Odisha. According to investigators, the pair was transporting the consignment across the Andhra-Odisha border en route to distribution points in Telangana.
Police described the seizure as a major strike against organised narcotics transport operating between tribal belt suppliers and urban distributors.
