HYDERABAD: Economic growth is enabling the fulfillment of promises made to the public, according to State Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The minister toured Nelakondapalli Mandal on Tuesday, inaugurating several development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and welfare programs.
At Cheruvumadharam Rajarampeta, Minister Srinivas Reddy inaugurated a cooperative society petrol bunk established under the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society Limited. Additionally, he opened CC roads constructed with Rs 20.8 lakh from MGNREGS funds in Cheruvumadharam.
Economic Growth Driving Infrastructure and Irrigation Development
During the events, the minister emphasized that economic growth is accelerating infrastructure development. He instructed officials to ensure timely documentation and bill settlements for completed works. He also stressed the need for coordination between the irrigation, police, and revenue departments to ensure every acre receives adequate water supply, preventing farmland from drying up.
In Sadasivapuram village, Minister Srinivas Reddy highlighted that CC roads and drainage systems were previously provided under the employment guarantee scheme, with an additional Rs 20 lakh now sanctioned for further development. He also announced that canal road works in Balasamudram would commence within ten days and assured the establishment of a function hall for the SC community.
Recalling the YSR era, he noted that Indiramma houses were constructed in every village and urged those without homes to benefit from the first phase of the housing scheme. The government has committed to building 20 lakh Indiramma houses over the next four years, with 4.5 lakh houses sanctioned in the first phase.
Economic Growth Ensuring Welfare and Rural Development
In Nachepalli village, CC road construction worth Rs 30 lakh has been completed. The minister reiterated that economic growth is enabling infrastructure improvements, including laying CC roads in front of every house to alleviate difficulties faced by women.
He assured that Rythu Bharosa and bonus funds would be disbursed within a week. The government is also constructing integrated schools in each assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 200 crore, ensuring education comparable to corporate institutions.
To support women, the government is implementing welfare schemes such as gas cylinders at Rs 500, 200 units of free electricity, and free RTC bus travel. Pending road works in Ammagudem village will be sanctioned before the upcoming monsoon, with tenders called for four link roads totaling Rs 11 crore. These projects are expected to be completed by summer.
Economic Growth Supporting Farmers and Financial Assistance
In a Gram Sabha meeting, Minister Srinivas Reddy announced that link roads requested by the public had been sanctioned, with foundation stones to be laid by the end of March or the first week of April. In Chennaram village, he inaugurated a 300-tonne capacity warehouse constructed with Rs 21.75 lakh from NABARD funds under the Primary Cooperative Society.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the government’s commitment to economic growth and farmers’ welfare. He noted that a Rs 500 bonus per quintal was provided for fine variety paddy, with Rs 1,350 crore in bonuses already distributed for Kharif crops. Pending bonus payments will be credited to farmers’ accounts within a week.
Additionally, a Rs 500 bonus per quintal will be given for fine paddy cultivated during the Rabi season. Rythu Bharosa funds will be credited to every cultivable acre by the end of March. The minister highlighted that Rs 21,000 crore in farmer loans were waived within a single year, marking a significant relief for farmers.
Furthermore, ration cards will be issued to all eligible poor individuals. In Rajeshwarapuram, Rs 50 lakh was allocated for CC roads within a year, reaffirming the government’s commitment to economic growth and infrastructure development.
The program was attended by Irrigation Development Corporation Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Market Committee Chairman Seetharamulu, Khammam RDO Narasimha Rao, other officials, and local representatives.
