Hyderabad, January 8: Former HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the organisation of the Formula E race. The probe focuses on fund misuse and violations of FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) regulations.
The ED had earlier summoned former minister KTR, BLN Reddy, and senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar for questioning in connection with the case. Petitioner Dana Kishore’s statements, alleging financial mismanagement during the race’s organisation, have already been recorded by the agency.
While notices were initially issued for Reddy and Kumar to appear on January 2, the ED later postponed the session to January 8 through a revised notification. KTR, who was summoned to appear on January 16, is also expected to be questioned on his role in the event’s planning and execution.
The case centres on the allocation and utilisation of funds for the Formula E race, which was held in Hyderabad. The ED is scrutinising potential irregularities and violations of financial regulations during the event.
Further developments in the investigation are awaited as the ED continues its examination of those involved in the case.
