HYDERABAD: A minor dispute took a tragic turn in Hyderabad’s Old City, where a 62-year-old shopkeeper lost his life after being assaulted by a group of youngsters. The shocking incident has sparked serious concerns over the growing violence stemming from petty arguments.
The victim, identified as Zakir Khan, ran a Kirana shop in C Block of Hafiz Baba Nagar. The dispute reportedly arose over the placement of chairs outside his shop, leading to an argument with the owners of a neighboring pan shop. During the altercation, the pan shop owners allegedly attacked Zakir Khan.
Following the assault, Zakir Khan collapsed and lost consciousness. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead while being shifted.
The Kanchan Bagh police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities have begun questioning those involved, and further legal action is expected.
The incident has left the local community in shock, with residents demanding strict action against the accused. The tragedy underscores the rising concerns over unchecked aggression and violence over minor disagreements.
