Hyderabad: The Telangana Council for Higher Education is set to kick off engineering counselling in the first week of July, with plans to wrap up the entire admission process by 14 August, paving the way for classes to commence without delay.
Announcing the timeline, Council Chairman Professor Balakrishna Reddy urged students to steer clear of unrecognised institutions and colleges, warning that admissions in such places could lead to serious academic and financial setbacks.
Reddy revealed that some students had already been lured into enrolling at unauthorised colleges, and he cautioned them that their decisions could backfire. “We have identified four institutions that have been operating without approval,” he said, adding that legal notices had been served to them.
He named the four colleges Next View, Byte XL Tech & Learn, Leap Start, and Intellipath and stated that all four had been given until 13 June to submit their explanations.
According to Reddy, these institutions claimed to be running their courses under agreements with deemed universities, a practice that he said was misleading and potentially harmful for students.
The Council’s warning comes amid mounting concerns that unapproved colleges are taking advantage of anxious students during the admission season. Reddy urged parents and students alike to verify a college’s recognition status before securing admission.
