Enumerators await pending salaries for household survey conducted three months ago

Enumerators who conducted the Household Survey in Hyderabad last November are yet to receive their salaries. GHMC officials cite fund shortages as the reason for the delay.

HYDERABAD: Enumerators who participated in the comprehensive household survey conducted last year are still awaiting their salaries.

The survey, which began on November 6, 2024, and concluded on November 30, was completed nearly three months ago. However, payments have not yet been disbursed, leaving workers anxious about when they will receive their due wages.

A total of 18,419 enumerators and 1,745 supervisors participated in the survey conducted across the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. The enumerators included government teachers, ASHA workers, and students.

Each enumerator was supposed to receive ₹10,000, while supervisors were to be paid ₹12,000 for their work. The total pending payment amounts to nearly ₹20 crore. Despite submitting their final report to the government, the enumerators have been waiting for their salaries for three months without any clarity on the disbursement timeline.

When questioned about the delay, GHMC officials stated that the payments have not been processed due to a lack of funds. However, no clear timeline has been provided for when the salaries will be released. The affected workers continue to urge the authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest.
