Former Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao visited Enumamula Agricultural Market and interacted with chilli farmers, demanding Rs 25,000 per quintal as support price.
WARANGAL: Former Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, along with several former MLAs and other leaders, visited the Enumamula Agricultural Market in Warangal to assess the concerns of chilli farmers. During the visit, he engaged with farmers and inquired about their grievances.
Speaking at the gathering, Errabelli Dayakar Rao criticized both the BJP-led central government and the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that they had come to power by making false promises. He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to stop misleading people and address farmers’ issues seriously.
He pointed out that the Congress government had failed to implement Rythu Bandhu and complete farm loan waivers, leaving farmers distressed. He further alleged that farmers were struggling to access urea, forcing them to wait in long queues. He expressed concern over falling market prices and demanded a minimum support price of Rs 25,000 per quintal for chillies to protect farmers’ interests.
Errabelli claimed that many farmers who voted for the Congress now regret their decision. He urged both the central and state governments to take immediate action to support chilli farmers. He also praised former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), stating that under the BRS government, farmers lived with dignity and were provided with various benefits. He asserted that KCR’s governance had been farmer-friendly and ensured their well-being.
The visit concluded with farmers sharing their concerns, urging the government to intervene and stabilize chilli prices in the market.
