BJP leader Etala Rajender has condemned misinformation campaigns against Janaushadhi Kendras, emphasizing their role in providing affordable, quality medicines to the public.
HYDERABAD: BJP leader and former Telangana minister Etala Rajender has strongly criticized what he calls a campaign of false propaganda against Janaushadhi Kendras, which provide low-cost medicines to the public. Addressing the media, Rajender accused certain political groups of misleading people regarding the effectiveness and availability of medicines at these government-run stores.
“The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is an initiative to provide quality generic medicines at affordable prices. Instead of supporting this public welfare scheme, some individuals are trying to mislead people with baseless allegations,” Rajender stated.
He further emphasized that all medicines available at Janaushadhi Kendras undergo rigorous quality checks and are government-approved before distribution. According to Rajender, these centers have significantly reduced medical expenses for low-income families struggling with high healthcare costs.
Rajender urged the Telangana government to expand the network of these pharmacies instead of discouraging their use. He also called on the public to verify facts before believing misleading claims about the scheme.
As the debate over Janaushadhi Kendras continues, Rajender’s remarks highlight the ongoing political tussle over public healthcare initiatives in Telangana.
