Hyderabad: LB Nagar police arrested six people from a group involved in selling fake educational and official certificates in the city. Another seven are absconding, officials said on Friday.
The racket was being run from a notary shop called Satvik Enterprises, located opposite the Saroornagar municipal office. The main accused, Bhanu Prakash, and his wife Sagarika were operating the shop. According to police, the couple had been preparing fake birth, income, caste, and land sale documents for nearly nine years.
They were allegedly motivated by the lure of quick money and collaborated with others to run the operation. Police said they raided the shop after receiving specific information. A large number of forged documents and stamps were seized during the raid.
Sources said each fake certificate was sold for ₹5,000 to ₹20,000, depending on the type. A case has been registered, and the arrested suspects are being interrogated for further details.
