Hyderabad: The Telangana Regional Transport Authority (RTA) collected Rs 63.7 lakh from the auction of fancy vehicle number plates at its Khairatabad office on Thursday.
RTA officials said the auction drew strong participation and several high-value bids. They reported that the number plate “TG 09 G 9999” fetched the highest price at Rs 25,50,200. Hetero Drugs Limited claimed the number.

The plate “TG 09 H 0009” drew another big bid at Rs 6,50,000. ARL Tyres Limited secured the registration.
Officials noted that demand for personalised number plates has grown steadily in recent years. They explained that car owners now compete intensely for memorable and symbolic sequences.
The transport department expects sustained demand. It also expects future auctions to generate similar revenue.
