Hyderabad: A farmer died of electrocution during borewell drilling in Ambatipalli village under Mahadevpur mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

The victim, identified as Bussa Kiran (30), came into contact with a live electric wire while supervising borewell works on his agricultural land. Locals said he collapsed instantly and died on the spot.

Kiran had reportedly hired a private drilling operator for the borewell. While assisting with pipe alignment, he accidentally touched a high-voltage cable. His body was shifted to the Mahadevpur Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Mahadevpur police registered a case and launched an investigation.
