HYDERABAD: During the ongoing Telangana Assembly sessions on Monday, a tense situation unfolded outside the Assembly premises.
Farmers and leaders of farmers’ associations from Jagtyal district attempted to storm the Telangana Assembly, demanding the full implementation of the farm loan waiver promised by the Congress during elections. As the farmers tried to reach the Assembly gate, police intervened to stop them.
A scuffle ensued between the farmers’ association leaders and the police, leading to heightened tensions in front of the Assembly. Despite their insistence on voicing their demands within the Assembly, the police eventually arrested the protesters and transported them to the police station.
