Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a Ramky facility in Dundigal industrial area on Wednesday morning, sparking panic among workers and local residents. No casualties were reported.
The blaze, suspected to have been triggered by a chemical reaction, spread rapidly through the unit. Workers and nearby residents evacuated the area after spotting flames, fearing a major explosion.
Firefighting teams responded to the alert and began containment operations. Thick smoke was visible from surrounding neighbourhoods as efforts continued to douse the fire.
The incident comes less than a month after a major industrial blaze at the Sigachi unit in Pasamailaram, Sangareddy, which claimed 44 lives. The recurrence of a fire in another chemical unit has renewed alarm over industrial safety protocols in Telangana’s manufacturing zones.
Authorities have not confirmed the specific cause of the fire. Investigation is underway.
