Hyderabad, January 26: A major fire broke out in Hussain Sagar on Sunday night, causing significant damage to two boats. The incident occurred during the Bharat Mata Maha Harathi event, organised by the Bharat Mata Foundation at the People’s Plaza Grounds on Necklace Road.
The fire reportedly started when fireworks were set off as part of the programme. Sparks from the display reached the boats, setting them ablaze. The flames quickly spread, reducing both boats to ashes. Several people sustained injuries in the incident.
Authorities confirmed that 15 individuals onboard the boats were rescued safely. Emergency services were deployed to the site, and rescue operations were promptly carried out to prevent further mishaps.
