Hyderabad: A five-year-old girl who was attacked by a stray dog earlier this month in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district died on Wednesday, after nearly two weeks of treatment.
The child, Niharika, was playing outside her home in Lakshmi Devi Palli Thanda on May 13 when the dog lunged at her. It left her with serious injuries.
Her family took her to a private hospital in Kothagudem, but she was later shifted to Hyderabad because of the severity of her condition. Despite doctors’ efforts, she died during treatment.
The incident has sparked fresh anger over stray dog attacks, especially in rural areas where emergency care is hard to access.
