HYDERABAD: A tragic accident occurred in Jabbapur village, Vargal Mandal, Siddipet District, during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary celebrations on Wednesday. While hoisting the flag, a pole accidentally touched overhead power lines, electrocuting eight people. One person died, and seven others suffered serious injuries.
Locals rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is widely celebrated across India by Hindu organizations, youth groups, and political parties. However, the accident cast a shadow over the festivities in Jabbapur.
Police have launched an investigation and are taking measures to prevent further incidents.
