Hyderabad: Flash floods triggered by heavy rains devastated poultry farms in Medak district, killing nearly 11,000 chickens and causing major financial losses to local farmers.
In Nandigama village of Nizam Sagar mandal, around 10,000 chickens perished after sudden floodwaters swept through a poultry farm, resulting in an estimated loss of ₹14 lakh. The farm owner expressed deep anguish over the destruction.
Separately, another poultry farm in Narsingi reported the death of 1,000 chickens due to waterlogging and flood damage.
Affected farmers have appealed to the government for immediate assistance and protective measures against recurring floods.
