Flood inflows rise at Srisailam reservoir, 67,000 cusecs released

Hyderabad: Flood inflows into the Srisailam reservoir continued to rise on Sunday following heavy rainfall in the upstream catchment areas. Officials said inflows from Jurala and Sunkeshula projects were measured at 1,71,208 cusecs into the reservoir.

The water level at Srisailam reached 878.4 feet against its full reservoir level of 885 feet. Storage was reported at 179.89 tmcft compared to the gross capacity of 215.8 tmcft.

Authorities are discharging 67,399 cusecs downstream to Nagarjunasagar through the right and left bank hydropower stations for power generation.
