Hyderabad: Former Chevella MLA Konda Laxma Reddy passed away in Hyderabad early Monday, casting a shadow over Telangana’s political scene. He was 84. Reddy had been receiving treatment for age-related health issues at Apollo Hospitals, where he breathed his last in the early hours. His family said the funeral will be held at Mahaprasthanam in Hyderabad at 3 p.m.

A lifelong Congressman, Konda Laxma Reddy devoted his life to public service and journalism. In 1980, he founded the news agency News Service of the South (NSS), driven by his deep passion for journalism. He also served as president of the Jubilee Hills Journalists’ Cooperative Housing Society and the Press Club of Hyderabad.
