HYDERABAD, February 2: Former Minister Jogu Ramanna visited the Nagoba Temple at Keslapur on Sunday morning to offer special prayers during the Nagoba Jatara. He performed rituals and prayed to Nagoba, a revered deity of the Adivasi community. Afterward, the Mesram family honoured him with a shawl and presented him with a photo of Nagoba.
During the event, a new year calendar, printed by the Mesram Family Employees Association, was released. The calendar featured important community events and religious ceremonies.
The five-day Nagoba Jatara, which began on January 28 with the Maha Puja at midnight, concluded on Saturday. The festivities included various rituals, including the Mandagajili Puja, and the ceremonial procession from Keslapur to Shyampur. Though the formal worship concluded, the Jatara will continue for two more days for devotees’ darshan.
The event also witnessed cultural activities and a Tribal Darbar, where discussions focused on addressing issues affecting the tribal community. Due to the ongoing MLC election code, officials and elected representatives participated in the darbar separately this year.
