Hyderabad: The foundation stone for the Young India Integrated Residential School (YIIRS), a flagship state education initiative, will be laid in Nalgonda on August 4, 2025, Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced Wednesday.
On the same day, the newly built Minister’s Camp Office in Nalgonda will also be inaugurated.
Addressing officials during a review at his Hyderabad camp office, the Minister described YIIRS as a landmark effort to uplift students from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities through world-class infrastructure and access to high-quality education.
The project will span 22 acres with a built-up area exceeding 5.36 lakh square feet, at an estimated cost of ₹200 crore. Construction will include academic blocks, residential quarters, a skill development centre, sports infrastructure, a modern theatre, and playgrounds. The deadline for completion is 18 months.
Komatireddy stressed the need for personal oversight by officials to ensure quality and timely execution. He praised the Chief Minister for sanctioning the school in Nalgonda, calling it a transformative opportunity for marginalised students.
The review meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Bala Prasad, consultants, and senior department officials.
