Hyderabad: A tragic road accident in Kamareddy district on Wednesday killed four members of a family, including two children. The crash occurred near Jangampally village on National Highway 44 under the Bhikkanur mandal.
Locals said a tipper lorry driving on the wrong side hit a scooter heading from Kamareddy to Bhikkanur. A woman, her father, and two children were travelling on a two-wheeler. The impact of the collision threw all four onto the road.
Mother and son die on the spot
The six-year-old boy and his mother died instantly. The grandfather and the four-year-old girl sustained critical injuries. Locals rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment, but both died while undergoing care.
Police launch a probe into the road accident
Police confirmed that all four victims belonged to the Khammam district. They registered a case and began tracing the tipper driver who fled after the crash. Officers are verifying CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and reconstruct the sequence of events.
