Hyderabad: Four people were killed and three others seriously injured in a severe road accident on the Guvvalacheruvu ghat road in Chintakomma Dinne mandal of Kadapa district on Friday.
According to police, the incident occurred when a car travelling from Rayachoti to Kadapa was struck from behind by a speeding lorry near the ghat section. The impact caused the lorry to crush the car, killing four occupants on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Srikanth, Sireesh, Harshini, and Rishi. Police said seven people were travelling in the car at the time of the crash. Rescue efforts to remove the lorry from atop the crushed vehicle took over two hours.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
