HYDERABAD: A huge encounter has taken place along the border of Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur and Dantewada districts, resulting in the death of four Maoists.
According to available reports, several other Maoists have sustained serious injuries in the ongoing gunfire exchange. Security forces are currently engaged in a continuing exchange of fire with Maoists, raising the possibility of a higher death toll.
Security personnel have recovered the bodies of the deceased Maoists along with their weapons from the encounter site. Senior officials from the Bastar police have confirmed the encounter.
