Hyderabad: A liquor quarrel between two friends in Balapur turned violent on Wednesday when one of them set the other on fire.

Police said Abdul and Jahangir went to a deserted area in Balapur to drink. While drinking, they started arguing. In anger, Jahangir grabbed a fuel bottle, poured it on Abdul, and ignited it. Abdul caught fire instantly.
People nearby heard his screams and rushed to help. They used water to extinguish the flames. Police reached the spot and took Abdul to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators filed a case and launched a search for Jahangir, who escaped after the attack. Officers said they were checking how the argument escalated so quickly.
