HYDERABAD: Congress leaders and workers from Gajwel met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to initiate the disqualification process against former CM and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for his continued absence from Assembly sessions.
Under the leadership of Congress leader Narsa Reddy, a large group of party workers marched from Siddipet to Hyderabad as part of a padayatra, expressing their demand for KCR’s removal as an MLA. The leaders stated that despite being elected as an MLA from Gajwel, KCR has failed to attend Assembly proceedings, which they argue is a betrayal of the people’s mandate.
The Congress delegation is now planning to submit a formal petition to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, requesting KCR’s disqualification. Party workers asserted that elected representatives have a duty to participate in legislative proceedings and that KCR’s absence sets a wrong precedent.
The demand for KCR’s disqualification has intensified political tensions in Telangana, as Congress leaders seek strict action against non-attending MLAs while reinforcing their stance on accountability and governance.
