Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday confirmed that over two lakh Ganesh idols had been immersed peacefully across Hyderabad. He stated that the city continues to uphold its status as a model for conducting grand and orderly Ganesh immersions in the country.
After completing an aerial survey, the Minister briefed the media. He reviewed immersion points alongside the Mayor, DGP, Police Commissioner, GHMC Commissioner, and Hyderabad District Collector.
CM Revanth Reddy inspects Tank Bund arrangements
In the evening, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy arrived unannounced at Tank Bund. He walked through the crowd, interacted with devotees, and inspected the arrangements in person.
Meanwhile, Minister Prabhakar said large idols from areas like Purana Pul and Charminar were en route to Tank Bund. He also confirmed that the Khairatabad Ganesh idol immersion concluded peacefully without incident.
Final immersions expected by midnight
Officials are maintaining close supervision across immersion points to prevent any issues. Prabhakar stated that the remaining idols are expected to be immersed by tonight.
He added that Hyderabad continues to lead by example in managing large-scale religious events with discipline, scale, and safety.
