Hyderabad: Director General of Police Anjani Kumar Jitender on Saturday said the Ganesh immersion process is progressing peacefully across Telangana. While immersions have concluded in most districts, the process in Hyderabad may continue until Sunday morning, he added.
He made the remarks after the successful immersion of the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati, one of the state’s largest idols. According to the DGP, Hyderabad has conducted the immersion smoothly for the past five years under the supervision of senior officials.
The Balapur Ganesh idol has also begun its journey for immersion and is expected to be immersed by 4 PM. Meanwhile, several other idols are being brought for immersion at Tank Bund and Hussain Sagar. DGP Jitender urged the public and pandal organisers to expedite the process and follow police instructions to ensure public safety.
