HYDERABAD: In a significant breakthrough in efforts to curb ganja smuggling, Telangana police seized cannabis worth ₹2.32 crore at the Eshwaram Pet check-post in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Police officials intercepted a lorry entering Telangana from Andhra Pradesh and discovered 464 kilograms of ganja concealed in 216 packets hidden above the driver’s cabin. The contraband was being transported from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh.
Three individuals were arrested in connection with the smuggling operation, while three others managed to flee. Police said efforts are underway to track down the absconding suspects.
The seizure marks another success in the ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the region.
