Ganja racket busted at Kacheguda station
Police identified the accused as Madugula Arjun, 18, and Vatti Srinivas, 20, both from Ravirala village. Officers said the two friends were addicted to drugs and alcohol. They admitted that they occasionally consumed ganja in their village.
Investigators confirmed that Arjun already faced two property offence cases. He earlier purchased ganja in Berhampur forests of Odisha. With that experience, he planned another trip with Srinivas on September 21. The duo bought 10 kg of ganja for ₹30,000 from a local supplier, split it into seven bundles, and packed it in two bags. They travelled on the Konark Express to Secunderabad the next morning.
From there, they boarded an MMTS train to Kacheguda. At 11:10 a.m., GRP and RPF officers intercepted them while they exited platform one. The police questioned them, and both admitted carrying ganja. Officers seized the contraband along with their phones.
Railway Police Superintendent Chandra Deepti and South Central Railway DSP (U) S N Javed supervised the operation. Kacheguda IRRP station officer R Yellappa, RPF inspector Goraknath Mal, sub-inspector R Rajitha, and other staff executed the checks. IGP (Railways and Road Safety) K Ramesh Naidu praised the team for the seizure.
