HYDERABAD: A gas cylinder explosion at a service center in Kukatpally on Tuesday, resulted in severe injuries to one person. The incident took place in the Bagh Ameer area under the jurisdiction of Kukatpally Police Station.
According to reports, the explosion occurred at Jaya Bhavani Golden Infosystem, Electrical and Gas Services, where an illegal gas refilling operation was underway. While transferring gas from a domestic cylinder to a smaller one, a sudden explosion took place with a loud noise, causing panic among the nearby residents.
The intensity of the explosion completely destroyed the shop, alarming locals in the vicinity. The injured person was immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, the police launched an investigation into the illegal gas refilling activities. Local residents have also expressed their anger over such unauthorised setups near residential areas. They are demanding strict action against illegal gas refilling shops to prevent similar incidents in the future.
