Hyderabad: A German government delegation met Telangana Labour Minister Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy on Tuesday to discuss the expansion of nursing placements under the Triple Win Project (TWP) and explore future collaborations for skilled youth mobility.
The meeting, held at the Secretariat, was attended by Bianca Maria Kunz, Dzejna Hurtic, Abdulrhman Altahleh, and senior GIZ India representatives. M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Labour Department and Vice Chairperson of TOMCOM, also participated.
The TWP is a joint initiative between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of Telangana, implemented via TOMCOM. It provides free German language training and facilitates placements for qualified Telangana nurses in top-tier healthcare institutions across Germany.
The delegation is currently conducting recruitment interviews for the 2024 TWP batch of trained nurses from July 9 to 17 at Paryatak Bhavan, Begumpet. Those selected, having completed B1-level German, are expected to migrate to Germany by late 2025 after visa formalities.
Dr. Venkatswamy highlighted the potential for expanding such partnerships to include ITI graduates under Germany’s Ausbildung Programme and assured support for new initiatives through TOMCOM.
The delegation also visited TGRTC Nursing College in Tarnaka, where they briefed students on long-term career prospects in Germany, including competitive pay, family visas, and settlement pathways. The interaction saw strong interest from both students and faculty.
Dr. Vasundhara, the college principal, urged nursing students to seize the opportunity. TOMCOM continues to lead Telangana’s global workforce strategy, focusing on ethical recruitment and skill-based international placement.
