Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Assistant Engineer accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 at the Amberpet office. The officer, identified as Manisha, was taken into custody on the spot.
According to ACB officials, Manisha had allegedly demanded money to clear pending bills and had already collected ₹5,000 earlier. She was apprehended while accepting the second payment.
The ACB has registered a case and is conducting further investigation. Officials urged the public to report any bribe demands by government employees using ACB’s toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), or the official website acb.telangana.gov.in.
Authorities assured that the identity of the complainants would be kept confidential.
