Hyderabad: From road widening blueprints to illegal works, it was a busy field day for GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan.
On Monday, the Commissioner carried out a whirlwind inspection across several infrastructure sites in the city. At Tarnaka Junction, he checked on the island beautification and greenery projects. Then it was on to Chilkalguda, where things got serious—Karnan visited the proposed H-CITI RUB site and slapped a strict warning on C\&D for carrying out unauthorised works. Penalties, he said, weren’t off the table.
The inspection trail continued through the proposed H-CITI road stretch near AOC, followed by a stop at Rasoolpura, where alignment work for the H-CITI flyover is in progress. He took stock of the ISW land that’s set to be impacted by the project.
At Patigadda, the focus shifted to the ROB H-CITI flyover and planned road widening in the pipeline.
On the tax front, officials weren’t spared either. Zonal Commissioner of Secunderabad, Ravi Kiran, and the Begumpet Deputy Commissioner were asked to cross-check property tax mapping via field surveys and GIS data. They’ve been told to turn in a report—with full sketches—within a week.
The visit wrapped up at waterlogging hotspots in Prakash Nagar. Two key sites—near the IOC bunk and HPS—were assessed, and the Commissioner ordered that de-silting works be stepped up to keep things in check before the rains.
