Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Wednesday ordered the swift completion of Moosarambagh bridge works to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity during the monsoon.
He toured Moosarambagh and Malakpet circles in the morning with deputy commissioners, assistant medical officers, and senior officials. He inspected the under-construction bridge, reviewed safety measures, and assessed the flow of the Musi river on-site.

Karnan said the project was vital for easing transport bottlenecks and directed the town planning and disaster management wings to coordinate, follow safety standards, and expedite key infrastructure projects despite adverse weather.
Citing continuous rainfall and the risk of rising water levels in the Musi, the commissioner instructed officials to take adequate precautions to protect residents in nearby areas. He asked riverbank communities to heed official warnings and avoid flood-prone zones during heavy rain.
“Public safety is our priority. Even in bad weather, we must complete projects without delay,” Karnan said.
