HYDERABAD: GHMC Commissioner D. Ilambarathi conducted an inspection of flood-affected areas in Hakimpet and Jubilee Hills on Friday, assessing the severity of the water logging and its impact on local residents.
Accompanied by Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayant, the Commissioner toured low-lying and inundated neighborhoods, examining the drainage situation and ongoing relief operations.
Ilambarathi instructed officials on the ground to take immediate remedial measures to ensure water recedes quickly and prevent further hardship to residents. He emphasised the importance of swift action to clear blocked drains and deploy additional manpower where necessary.
The Commissioner also reviewed the preparedness of the civic teams and their coordination with disaster response personnel. He asked the officials to remain alert and respond promptly to public grievances arising from the inclement weather.
Authorities have been directed to closely monitor vulnerable areas and report progress regularly to ensure that the situation returns to normal at the earliest.
