Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Saturday directed officials to scale up anti-larva operations in Alwal and across the city to prevent monsoon-related health risks. He inspected sanitation and mosquito-control efforts in Bhoolakshmi Nagar, Bhudevinagar, and Machabollaram under Kukatpally Zone.
Karnan spoke with residents about garbage clearance and mosquito breeding issues, instructing staff to resolve complaints immediately. He ordered field officials to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) within seven days.
He warned officials to stay alert and act without delay in vulnerable areas. Citizens were asked to report garbage heaps or construction waste by sending photos to WhatsApp number 81259 66586 for immediate clearance.
“All field officers must be on ground, engage directly with residents, and address problems without delay,” he said.
Zonal Commissioner Apoorva Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Reddy, AM&HO officials, and sanitation staff accompanied the inspection.
