Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Tuesday carried out a detailed inspection of the Jiaguda Kamela slaughterhouse in Karwan Circle and called for urgent upgrades to its infrastructure and hygiene standards.
He was accompanied by Zonal Commissioner (Khairtabad) Anuraag Jayanthi, Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Sahadev Rathnakar, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Abdul Wakil and other senior officials during the inspection.
Commissioner directs modernization and strict hygiene
Karnan instructed project engineers to fast-track modernization works, upgrade the facility to meet present-day requirements, and strengthen monitoring systems. He stressed that strict hygiene measures were essential to protect public health.
He instructed officials to clear debris and construction waste from the premises without delay, saying it is necessary to keep the surroundings clean and safe.
