Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner R.V. Karnan on Friday toured several rain-hit localities, accompanied by Karwan AIMIM MLA Kausar Moinuddin. The inspection route included Tolichowki X Road, Hakeempet KGN Nalla, Mothi Darwaza, Ahmed Colony, Langar House HUDA Lake and surrounding areas.
Karnan later visited Malkam Cheruvu with Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gajarao Bhoopal to check water levels and assess traffic congestion. He reviewed post-rain measures such as dewatering, clearing debris and ensuring road safety.
GHMC rain inspections stress quick civic action
The commissioner advised residents to steer clear of inundated roads during showers and to take alternative routes. Citizens with civic complaints were urged to contact the GHMC helpline at 040-21111111. He instructed field staff to respond without delay and coordinate with traffic police and Disaster Response Force teams to safeguard public movement.
