Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Tuesday toured the under-construction 2.58 km four-lane flyover from Nalgonda X Road to Owaisi Junction, pressing officials to pick up the pace and clear roadblocks so the project meets its March 2026 deadline.
Joined by Malakpet AIMIM MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala and Charminar Zonal Commissioner Venkanna, Karnan walked through key stretches of the ₹620 crore corridor, which runs from the Government Printing Press in Chanchalguda to Yadagiri Theatre via Saidabad and IS Sadan. Built under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), the link is expected to cut travel time and ease bottlenecks on one of Hyderabad’s busiest routes.
Karnan told town planning officers to move swiftly on land acquisition cases, warning that delays at this stage could push back the schedule. Project engineers at the site promised to keep work on track and maintain quality standards throughout the build.

The Commissioner underlined the need for both speed and durability in execution. Malakpet Deputy Commissioner M K I Ali, Maintenance Executive Engineer Peersing, and Project Executive Engineer Bhupal, who joined the visit, assured full support to the accelerated timeline.
Later, Karnan shifted focus to Dabirpura, checking stormwater drains and nalas. He directed staff to ensure water moves freely during heavy rains so nearby homes are spared from seasonal flooding.
“The Nalgonda X Road to Owaisi Junction flyover is pivotal for easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity. We are working diligently to overcome challenges and deliver this world-class infrastructure by March 2026,” Karnan said.
