Hyderabad: GHMC officials penalised multiple vehicle owners for illegal parking and footpath encroachments during a city-wide enforcement drive on Monday.
Inspections were carried out across key commercial and residential areas, where civic teams identified several violations. Fines ranged from ₹300 to ₹1,000 per vehicle, depending on the severity of the encroachment.
The drive focused on areas where footpaths had been blocked by parked two-wheelers and private vehicles, disrupting pedestrian movement. GHMC staff said parking spaces were being misused, prompting immediate penal action.
Senior municipal officials supervised the operations. Authorities said enforcement will continue and urged the public to follow parking regulations to avoid further action.
