Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has approved a proposal to rename Annapurna Rs 5 meal centres as Indiramma Canteens. The decision was cleared during the GHMC Standing Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijay Lakshmi on Thursday.
The committee also gave the go-ahead to terminate the contract with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for the implementation of LED street lights.
Other resolutions passed include renaming the Kondapur-Gachibowli flyover as PJR flyover, extending the unified traffic signal control system contract till September 19, and undertaking green beautification works below the Somajiguda–Nagarjuna Circle flyover.
The panel also approved the construction of sewage treatment plants at various 2BHK housing locations across the city.
Further, the Standing Committee agreed to alienate 6.20 acres of government land in Nacharam for establishing a National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Approval was also given to fix a licence fee for the Yacht Club to operate kayaking and sailing activities at Durgam Cheruvu.
