Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan has ordered large-scale transfers in the town planning department, reassigning 27 officers including assistant city planners and section officers.
The decision follows multiple public complaints and recent arrests by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in corruption-related cases within the department.
Thirteen assistant city planners and 14 section officers have been transferred, with some section officers promoted and posted to new town planning roles.
Among the changes: Krishna Murthy from Mehdipatnam has been posted to Uppal; Sumitra to Gajularamaram; Srinivas Reddy to Alwal; Pavani to Secunderabad; Vijayalakshmi to Hayathnagar; Naresh to Head Office.
Promoted officers include Sudhakar (Chandrayangutta), Ramesh Kumar (Goshamahal), Lallappa (Serilingampally), Zeeshan (Kukatpally), Bhanochander (Santosh Nagar), Manjula (Quli Qutb Shah Urban Authority), and Swamy (Mehdipatnam).
Section officers Akbar Ahmed, Suresh Kumar, Mahender, JK Naresh, Someshwar, Tilja Singh, Naresh, Madhu, BV Prakash, Ramachandra, Mukesh Singh, and Prabhavati have also been transferred across zones.
