Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) paid tribute to Professor Jayashankar on his birth anniversary, honouring his lifelong commitment to the Telangana statehood movement.
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan led the homage at the corporation’s head office on Wednesday. Along with senior officials, he offered floral respects to the late professor’s portrait and reflected on his legacy.
Professor Jayashankar remembered for service to Telangana cause
Commissioner Karnan said Jayashankar dedicated his entire life to Telangana’s formation while also guiding students as an academic. He described the late professor’s contributions as “everlasting” and stated that the best way to honour his memory is by continuing his ideals and drawing inspiration from his life.
Additional Commissioners Raghu Prasad, Geeta Radhika, Venu Gopal, Chief Engineer Ratnakar, Accounts Examiner Venkateshwarlu, Chief Public Relations Officer Mohammed Murtuza, and PRO M. Dasharatham also participated in the event.
