Hyderabad: Noted philanthropist and educationist Ghyasuddin Babu Khan, head of several educational institutions in Hyderabad, passed away on Monday. Compassionate and generous by nature, he devoted his life to the upliftment of underprivileged sections of society.
Alongside his late elder brother, former minister Basheeruddin Babu Khan, he established a number of welfare institutions that continue to serve the needy. These include the Hyderabad Zakat and Charitable Trust, the Foundation for Economic and Educational Development (FEED), and the Hyderabad Institute of Excellence, among others. Many of these initiatives were dedicated to supporting orphans and disadvantaged communities.
Institutions built for social and educational uplift
The organisations he helped create have provided scholarships, educational opportunities, and social welfare services to thousands over the years. Colleagues and associates remembered him as a visionary who combined social service with institution-building to ensure sustainable impact.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements were awaited at the time of reporting.
