Hyderabad: With heavy rainfall continuing upstream, the Godavari River is rising rapidly. At Bhadrachalam, the water level reached 43 feet, triggering a first-level flood warning.
Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer B. Rahul urged tribal residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas under Godavari River to stay alert and avoid going outside unless necessary. He said overflowing streams and rivulets are dangerous and warned people not to approach them for photos or videos.
He advised drivers to travel with caution. He also told tribal school authorities to keep students away from check dams and water bodies. If flooding occurs, residents should quickly follow instructions and move to relief camps.
