Hyderabad: Irrigation authorities released Godavari water from the Sitarama project into the main canal network on Saturday, initiating a critical phase of distribution in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Pinapaka MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu activated the Phase-1 pump house motor at Bheemunigundam Kothuru in Aswapuram mandal, discharging flow into the primary canal.
Floodwaters from Kummurigudem were also diverted into the same channel, bringing total discharge to approximately 1,500 cusecs.
The water is routed downstream to reach the Phase-2 pump house at VK Ramavaram and Phase-3 at Kamalapur. From there, it connects to the Sagar canal via the Rajiv Link Canal at Enkoor.
