Hyderabad: Gold prices soared to record highs, crossing ₹1.2 lakh per 10 grams within a month. Rates rose by several thousands in just weeks, unsettling buyers during the festive season.
Gold price surge rattles festive buyers
In Hyderabad, 24-carat gold touched ₹1,20,700 for 10 grams. The 22-carat rate stood at ₹1,11,770 for the same weight. Silver also surged, with one kilo priced at ₹1,49,600.
Global markets reflected the same trend. Gold traded at $3,864 per ounce, while silver hovered around $47. Experts said the steep rise shocked buyers who had hoped to purchase when rates fell.
