HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has sanctioned ₹125 crore for the construction of a high-level bridge in the suburbs of Manthani, Peddapalli district. This bridge aims to connect Manthani with Chennur in Mancherial district by spanning the Godavari River. The project is set to reduce the current 70 km distance between the two towns to approximately 35 km, significantly easing travel and boosting regional commerce. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently conducted a virtual foundation-laying ceremony for this 920-meter-long bridge. The Roads and Buildings Department has indicated that tenders for the project will be invited soon, with plans to complete the bridge within a year. Currently, residents often resort to boat crossings or temporary mud roads during the summer when water levels recede. The new bridge is expected to provide a permanent and reliable transportation route, enhancing connectivity and economic activity in the region.
